November 11, 2021-Changing of the Seasons, Changing of the Guard

Welcome back to Savile Road! Whether you're finding us for the first time or have been with us since the start,  a lot has changed since our last update.

First and foremost, there are two new faces in the shop: Patrick has taken over the service department. He brings with him 12 years of mechanical experience including suspension overhauls and wheel building.Michael is handling front of house duties as well as web order fulfillment. We look forward to getting these two involved in operations this offseason so that we can hit the ground running for 2022!

While the bicycle industry continues to be affected by challenges within the global supply chain, we're grateful to have some fantastic products on offer from our retail partners. One that we're especially excited about is the new Specialized Crux. Many gravel bikes have claimed to do it all but the new Crux really embodies this bold statement. It's not just light "for a gravel bike"; the S-Works model comes in right at the UCI weight limit out of the box. It'll take up to 700x47 tires for off-road overlanding, provides mud clearance for even the muckiest 'cross races or you could strip it down to 28s and take it out on fast road rides. We've also got an assortment of Specialized (and S-Works) Aethos and Tarmacs, a couple of trail bikes, and the updated Voytek fat bike from Otso with more on the way throughout the winter months. You can check out our current selection in our store, or feel free to drop us a line to inquire about future availability.

If the bike you wanted is sold out til spring or you're just after something custom, we're continuing to partner with Mosaic and have added Seven Cycles to our catalog of custom fabricators. Lead times for the two of them are currently around 12-14 weeks with semi-custom and made-from-fit options available.

If you've got a bicycle that you're happy with and it just needs some TLC, our service department is well stocked too. The offseason is a great time to have your bike serviced-leave it with us when you're ready to put it away for the winter and it'll be ready to go when the weather warms up. This helps us manage timelines and helps you avoid the wait when it occurs to everyone all at once that they ought to have their bikes tuned up for the season. If you're interested in learning more about servicing your own ride, stay tuned for updates on a series of clinics we hope to put on in the shop over the winter!

And of course, we would be remiss not mention that Christmas is fast approaching and we have some fantastic gift options-bottle openers, keychains clothing and coffee cups from Campagnolo, cycling apparel from Giordana and Specialized and of course the old standby, gift cards. Weather you're shopping for yourself or a loved one we'd love for you to stop in and check out what we have going on!
